Working on this anniversary issue of the Top 100 has been a fun trip down memory lane. To quote the late Yankees manager Yogi Berra, “It’s like déjà vu all over again.” On this year’s Top 100 (which reflects 2025 revenue), Rollins surpassed Rentokil Terminix as the industry’s largest firm. Each corporation has held the No. 1 spot for many years, though Rollins has a slight edge — they’ve spent 13 years at the top, compared with 12 years for Rentokil Terminix and its legacy company Terminix International.
Here’s a quick breakdown of this back-and-forth: Terminix held the No. 1 spot for 10 years, from 2002-2011. In May 2012, Rollins topped Terminix (by $12 million), and held the top spot for another 11 years, until May 2023. Then, after a merger in late 2022, Rentokil Terminix’s increased revenue put them back at No. 1 for both the 2024 and 2025 issues. This year, Rollins is back on top: Their $3.8 billion is $300 million higher than Rentokil Terminix’s $3.5 billion.
