RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — DataWave Research released the DataWave MarketLens: U.S. Structural Pest Management Edition, a data-driven view of the U.S. structural pest management market.
DataWave MarketLens is built from state licensing records, public company data and DataWave’s proprietary linkage, deduplication and estimation process. The report maps more than 20,000 structural pest management companies nationwide, over 150,000 license holders and more than $20 billion in service revenue, the company says. In-depth profiles of the Top 500 pest management companies highlight opportunities for manufacturers, distributors and acquirers alike, the firm added.
DataWave said the pest management industry has seen a decade of remarkable consolidation, including landmark deals such as Rentokil’s acquisition of Terminix and a sustained wave of private equity investment. MarketLens shows that thousands of independent and founder-owned operators continue to successfully compete alongside the national platforms, pointing to substantial, ongoing opportunities at every level of the channel, the research firm said.
DataWave said the report presents market intelligence in two views. The macro view provides a nationwide, company-level view of more than 20,000 pest management companies by name, location and estimated revenue. The micro view profiles the Top 500 companies with the detail that turns a list of names into real targets, including service mix, ownership type and years in business. A dashboard with an interactive U.S. map lets subscribers see revenue concentration, market saturation, estimated materials and supplies spend and wallet share opportunity with county-level detail where source data supports it.

“Find where the business is, and you can measure your wallet share and win more of it,” said Dave Braness, founder of DataWave Research. “A manufacturer can see share and penetration below the national level. A distributor can stock and direct spend where demand concentrates. An acquirer can find the right targets and move first. MarketLens was built to give every player in our industry a clear view of the market and the edge on critical decisions.”
DataWave says its MarketLens report supports decisions that broad estimates alone cannot, including where to make an acquisition, where to deploy a sales team or open a branch, how to align inventory and programs with demand and how to measure performance through wallet share rather than year-over-year growth alone.
“This is the kind of market intelligence the industry has needed,” Braness said. “MarketLens goes beyond a top-down estimate by building the market from the company level up and mapping it to where the work gets done.”
The DataWave MarketLens subscription includes a comprehensive report with market sizing and opportunity analysis, pest management company datasets, an interactive MarketLens dashboard and a live executive briefing with Q&A. The report and subscription package are available now.
