In Memoriam: Rob Moloney

The New York Pest Management Association (NYPMA) mourns the loss of Robert L. Moloney, former president. He passed away on July 23, at 52.

Rob dedicated much of his professional life to advancing the pest management industry and supporting his fellow professionals throughout New York State. He served as President of NYPMA from 2023 to 2025 and most recently continued to serve the Association as Past President, providing leadership, mentorship and an unwavering commitment to the profession.

Rob's career in pest management spanned more than two decades. He entered the pest management industry in 2002 as a Pest Management Professional with Top Notch Pest Control in Brooklyn, New York. In 2005, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish Tri-State Exterminators, which he  grew until its merger with Absolute Pest in 2016 (he continued working at Absolute Pest).

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Rob proudly served his country as a Retired Master Sergeant in the United States Army, including service during Operation Desert Storm. 

Rob is survived by his wife, Lisa, with whom he shared more than 20 years of marriage. 

"Rob's leadership extended far beyond the offices he held," said Michael Broder, current NYPMA president. "He was a trusted colleague, a mentor to many, and a passionate advocate for professionalism within our industry. His contributions to NYPMA and to the pest management profession will have a lasting impact, and he will be deeply missed."

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to America's Wounded Warriors, a cause that reflects Rob's lifelong commitment to those who have served our nation.
