HULL, Mass. - John Hall, longtime owner of Safety Fumigant Pest Control Co., died April 20, 2026, in Hull, Mass. He was 86.
Hall spent decades leading Safety Fumigant Pest Control Co., a Hingham-based company with roots dating to 1890, when it was founded in Boston as Houghton and Company. The business relocated to Hingham in 1925 under the Safety Fumigant name.
Hall joined the company and, alongside business partner Ray Tedeschi, purchased the business in 1975. Under their leadership, Safety Fumigant became a longstanding member of both the National Pest Management Association and the New England Pest Management Association, reflecting Hall’s enduring involvement in the professional pest management community.
He is survived by his son, Jonathan Hall, who continues to operate the family business alongside his own sons, extending the company’s multigenerational legacy.
