STETTEN, Switzerland — Birchmeier Sprühtechnik AG, based in Stetten, Switzerland, is celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2026. Founded in 1876, the company began as a metal goods factory and became internationally recognized for inventing the first backpack sprayer in 1890. Today, Birchmeier said its spray technology products are used in over 80 countries and are valued in pest control, horticulture, agriculture, construction, and cleaning.

Birchmeier said it continues to invest in research and development, offering a range of durable and intelligently designed sprayers, including high-end battery-powered models. The company said its commitment to Swiss quality is evident in its manufacturing standards and sustainable practices, such as providing spare parts for at least ten years after production ends.
