The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has released a discussion paper intended to promote deeper, more productive engagements with stakeholders on potential flexibilities regarding the lot-level tracking requirements in the final rule, "Requirements for Additional Traceability Records for Certain Foods” (Food Traceability Rule). The paper includes information and questions to help inform FDA’s engagements with stakeholders, including the upcoming virtual FDA-led public meeting scheduled for June 15.
The public meeting is free and open to the public, but registration is necessary to attend. Those who would like to speak during the public comment period must register by June 5. All other attendees can register until June 14. More information about registration and how to request to speak during the public comment period are available here.
Interested parties are encouraged by FDA to submit feedback on the discussion paper here by July 15.
