VALLEY VIEW, Ohio — The idea of creating a nationally integrated food safety system began with scribbles on a cocktail napkin at a lounge called Studebaker’s in Rockville, Md., 25 years ago.
Quality Assurance & Food Safety magazine is partnering with the Association of Food & Drug Officials on a webinar series looking into the origin of the efforts to develop a nationally integrated food safety system. The first session in the three-part series kicks off Aug. 24 from 1-2 p.m. ET.
In part one of this three-part series, the speakers will discuss the vision and early hurdles for a nationally integrated food safety system. During part two, Sept. 15, 1-2 p.m., the speakers will discuss the early planning of a national food safety system, single food agency legislation and the Partnership for Food Protection. Part three, Sept. 28, 1-2 p.m., will feature discussion on FSMA and mutual reliance, including thoughts from state food program managers.
