On Tuesday, August 25 — the day before the Farwest Show opens — attendees can explore Oregon's Nursery Country through one of three exclusive guided bus tours, offering behind-the-scenes access to wholesale growers.
"There's simply no better way to experience Nursery Country than by visiting the operations that make Oregon a global leader in horticulture," said Connie Lindsay, trade show manager for the Oregon Association of Nurseries, which produces the Farwest Show. "These tours give attendees the chance to ask questions, exchange ideas with fellow professionals and see innovations in action that they can take home to their own businesses."
Each full-day tour departs from the Oregon Convention Center and includes transportation, lunch, beverages and snacks.
Attendees can choose from three unique experiences:
- Wholesale Grower Tour: Visit four wholesale nurseries to explore every stage of production, from propagation and growing practices to shipping and customer fulfillment. Participating nurseries include Buchholz & Buchholz Nursery, Eshraghi Nurseries, Gold Family Farms and Krueger's Tree Farm & Nursery.
- Propagation Tour: Discover the art and science behind successful plant production through visits showcasing propagation techniques ranging from seed sowing to tissue culture. Stops include Alpha Nursery, Fessler Nursery Co., Microplant Nurseries and Youngblood Nursery.
- Automation Tour: Explore how nurseries are using automation to improve efficiency, sustainability and profitability. Attendees will see technologies including automated production systems, smart irrigation and data-driven management tools at Kuenzi Turf & Nursery, Oregon Flowers, Oregon Pride Nurseries, Smith Gardens and Wurdinger Manufacturing.
Early registration is available through July 31 for $129. Beginning Aug. 1, registration increases to $145. Space is limited, and tours do sell out.
Farwest will take place Aug. 26 to 28, 2026, at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon. The trade show brings together thousands of nursery professionals for three days of exhibits, education, networking and business opportunities.
