Donald Prater, then serving as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) principal deputy associate commissioner for food, and Mindy Brashears, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) under secretary for food safety, answer an audience question about regulatory agencies scaling back avian influenza testing in dairy during the Food Safety Summit Regulatory Town Hall on May 14.
"The pasteurized milk supply is safe," said Prater, who was named FDA's acting deputy commissioner for food May 15.
The 15th annual Town Hall brought together senior leaders from federal and state regulatory agencies to share agency priorities and discuss food safety issues facing the industry today.
