Name: Helianthus × multiflorus ‘Sunshine Daydream’
Description: ‘Sunshine Daydream’ was found as a branch sport of ‘Capenoch Star.’ This selection features fully double blooms with petals that re-curve toward the stem. ‘Sunshine Daydream’ has fully rounded, dahlia-like blooms that are smaller in diameter, but much more numerous in quantity. It flowers from June-August.
Attributes: It attracts butterflies, it’s drought tolerant, it’s native to the U.S. and it can be used as a cut flower.
Growth habit and rate: Medium growth rate. It grows 5-6 feet high and 2-4 feet wide.
Landscape uses: En masse along the middle of the perennial border or in containers.
Hardiness: USDA Hardiness Zones 4-8.
