A.M.A. Plastics Ltd. and A.M.A. Properties recently signed agreements with Solar Power Network to lease approximately 75,000 square feet of A.M.A. roof space for solar power generation. This installation should generate an estimated 750 kW of electricity, more than A.M.A.’s current electricity usage. For A.M.A., it means moving to green energy with no capital outlay and a revenue stream for the next 20 years from an underused asset, its roof space. Any excess electricity gets passed through to the grid.

Schaefer Ventilation Equipment of Sauk Rapids, Minn., acquired the assets of the industrial fan business of Americ Corp. in Elk Grove Village, Ill. Schaefer Ventilation designs, manufactures and markets fans and other ventilation equipment. Schaefer has acquired the Americ brand, product designs, customer lists and other assets and will merge the Americ fan business with its own ventilation business, including moving fan assembly to Schaefer’s Sauk Rapids, assembly facility this summer.
