According to results from PCT’s most recent poll, LinkedIn (47 percent) and Facebook (38 percent) are the most beneficial social media sites for their businesses, followed by YouTube (9 percent) and Instagram (7 percent).
“I think they're all important, but if I had to choose one, I would say Facebook,” said Rusty Prewett, CEO of Prewett Pest Control, Auburn, Ala. “It benefits us in multiple ways. Staying in front of the community as far as branding is a major one, but also highlighting the culture of our company, which has a huge benefit for potential employees looking to come on board with us.”
Denise Trad-Wharton, CEO of Trad's Pest Control, Jacksonville, Fla., said her company utilizes Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. “We are a residential company; if we were commercial we would utilize LinkedIn. Facebook provides us with the most traction.”
Mitchell Boston, owner of Magnum Pest Control, Savannah, Ga., said Facebook is most important to his business “because it appeals to more of an older demographic than the others.”
For this particular poll question, PCT provided four social media sites (Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram), but there are many more social media sites being utilized by PCOs. As LinkedIn follower Catherine E. note “You missed one that's working great. Nextdoor!”
