CPCO of Georgia Members Show Support of Colleague Facing Cancer Treatment

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Members of the Certified Pest Control Operators of Georgia (CPCOofGA) have come together in a powerful display of teamwork and compassion to support one of their own. When fellow member and industry friend Eric Shaw, owner of A&E Pest Control in Winder, Ga., began treatment for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, several colleagues immediately stepped in to ensure his routes and responsibilities were covered without interruption, said CPCOofGA.

“Eric has always been a dedicated and valued member of our team,” said Connie Rogers, executive director, CPCOofGA. “When we learned about Eric’s diagnosis, it wasn’t even a question — everyone wanted to help. That’s what being part of this organization means: we take care of each other.”

Since Eric began treatment, a team of fellow PCOs, including Ron Combs, Amy Combs, Kevin Holmann, Bill Haynes, Mayo Cummings, Robert Pinion, Dallas Steinmetz and Bruce Hoover, have been volunteering their time and energy to complete Eric’s routes, ensuring the same high level of service and commitment to the community continues, said the organization.

“This is what the pest management community looks like,” said Rogers, “We all know someone who’s faced a battle like this, and being able to support Eric in a tangible way makes a real difference.”

Eric is currently undergoing treatment and remains in high spirits, inspired by the outpouring of support from colleagues and the community, said CPCOofGA. The organization said Eric and his wife Anita expressed deep gratitude for everyone stepping up during this time.
