April PCT includes the feature "University Researchers Take Aim at Caribbean Crazy Ants," an invasive pest that is problematic in South Florida. University of Florida researchers Rudy Scheffrahn and John Warner treated for this pest at the Plantation Preserve. Below is a map of Plantation Preserve showing where pesticide treatments for control of Caribbean Crazy ant were made. NOTE: The researchers were instructed not to treat beyond the yellow lines, even though areas marked by orange dotted lines have heavy ant trails.
