MINNEAPOLIS - Rob Greer, COO of Rove Pest Control, Minneapolis, announced that "Empathy and Understanding in Business," the book he co-authored with Chris Voss, renowned FBI hostage negotiator and CEO of the Black Swan Group, was published on Jan. 4, and can be ordered at Amazon.com.
As previously reported by PCT, Greer used Voss’ book “Never Split The Difference” to teach basic skills to customer service reps and technicians at Rove Pest Control. He “threw his hat into the ring” and was chosen as a contributor for the Voss book project “Empathy and Understanding in Business.”
In the book, Greer shares lessons he’s learned while managing others, as well as examples from his personal life on how to turn “ugly situations into moments of connections.”
According to the Amazon.com description, Voss' goal in publishing this book was to remind us that entrepreneurs want lasting relationships that build trust and clientele. He questions if anyone associates empathy with enterprise and entrepreneurism, and states that the qualities of trust and lasting relationships come out of understanding and respect for each other. In short, as stated by Brené Brown, "Empathy fuels connection."
