Syngenta's Lisa Eppler on WHO Partnership, Malaria's Global Impact

Syngenta recently partnered with the World Health Organization to prequalify Sovrenta® insecticide for use in malaria-afflicted countries. Lisa Eppler, technical services manager for Syngenta Professional Pest Management, Western U.S., shared more on this collaborative effort and her experiences traveling to Africa, continuing to be on the forefront of the fight against malaria.

Malaria is one of the world’s most deadly diseases, and it is becoming more pervasive – despite decades of effort and some successes on the path to eradicating it. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), malaria infected 263 million people and killed nearly 600,000 people in 2023 – 75% of whom were children under the age of 5. Of those afflicted, 94% are in Africa – where malaria crushes communities and can cripple economies.
