What are Mainspring insecticides, and how do Mainspring GNL and Mainspring Xtra differ?

Mainspring® brand insecticides from Syngenta provide broad-spectrum control of chewing, sucking and soil-dwelling insects in greenhouses, nurseries and ornamental landscapes.

Mainspring GNL insecticide is powered by the active ingredient cyantraniliprole, delivering long-lasting, residual control of thrips, aphids and caterpillars. It works by quickly stopping insect feeding, limiting plant damage and reducing the risk of disease transmission.

Mainspring Xtra insecticide contains the same active ingredient, cyantraniliprole, along with thiamethoxam. The addition of thiamethoxam provides faster knockdown of pests like whiteflies and leafminers, while expanding the overall spectrum of control.

What is the Thiamethoxam Vigor Effect in Mainspring Xtra?

In addition to providing fast-acting insect control, thiamethoxam has been shown to promote plant vigor by enhancing root mass and stem strength, improving overall plant greenness and supporting higher-quality crops. As a systemic active ingredient, thiamethoxam moves throughout the plant, where it stimulates natural plant processes that support growth and defense responses.

Where and how can Mainspring Xtra be applied?

Mainspring Xtra offers flexible application options, including foliar spray, soil drench, cold fog or application via micro-irrigation systems (chemigation). It is also labeled for use on non-bearing fruit trees, nut trees and vegetable transplants grown for retail sale, making it a versatile solution for growers managing diverse crops.

With two modes of action, Mainspring Xtra is a strong fit for resistance management programs, giving your program added flexibility and protection.

Where and how can Mainspring GNL be applied?

Mainspring GNL can be applied as a foliar spray or drench, delivering reliable, extended protection in greenhouse or nursery production. It also serves as a strong rotational partner with other Syngenta insecticides, such as Vykenda™ insecticide/miticide. Vykenda acts through contact and ingestion against a wide range of the most difficult-to-control insects including mites, thrips, red-headed flea beetles, black vine weevil adults and more. Together, with Mainspring GNL, these insecticides provide a complete insecticide solution to control nearly all common insects.
